                              BRYCE NATIONAL PARK
"Series of natural amphitheaters sunk into pink cliffs and filled with delicate red rock 'hoodoos'. Delicately colored spires, fins, and mazes haunt our imagination and beckon us to explore them more closely."
Bryce Point for Sunrise
"The most brilliant hues come alive at sunrise and sunset."
Just as we were walking to the Point, a tour bus full of people arrive. So much for peaceful. Spent an hour here photographing the illumination of the hoodoos, which constantly changed as the sun rose. The incredible beauty almost made us forget the wind and finger-numbing cold.

Visitor Center
20-min film "Shadows of Time"
This place sure has changed since we were here 30+ years ago. So many more people.
The maps,
GUIDE pamphlet, and the ranger services the national parks provide are remarkable!
Educational exhibits with geological explanations about the formation of the area.
The Paiute legend even more interesting: "The rock figures were people turned to stone by angry gods."
Scenic Drive Viewpoints:
Did like GUIDE suggested; drove to end of 18-mile scenic drive; then stopped at each of the 14 viewpoints on way back, which meant all right turns.
Elk family in meadow; what a way to top off a fantastic drive!
