"Swirling sandstone mesas, intriguing canyons, high desert and forest" winding along Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument.
Oh my gosh, what a beautiful drive through Red Canyon and the Dixie National Forest--constantly saying wow!
Impossible to stop with the rv. Came back several days in the jeep exploring the different areas and taking pictures at all the pullout views.
Most impressive was the four-mile drive through Red Canyon's spiraling red rock hoodoos. The red rocks line the edge of a long escarpment called Sunset Cliffs.
Interesting tunnels through the limestone fins, which were dug 1925 to impress dignitaries and provide a gateway to Bryce.

Known for homemade pies--coconut cream just ok.

* Bryce Canyon Inn for pizza; good flavor, crust not very crispy. Perfect weather for eating on their patio.
