Horseshoe Bend Hike
1.5 mile round-trip walk up and down a hill to the Overlook--a 270-degree curve in the Colorado River. The first day we came there were so many people. Also, very low, threatening clouds covering the mountains. Decided to come back another day.
Finally, a little sun so headed to Horseshoe Bend about 8 am. Because of so much rain, the sandy path was pretty hard packed, which made walking much easier. Tour bus group leaving as we were walking down. Only about ten other people there.
Great view of the bend, where a rafting group was camped. Beautiful place! Not enough light down in canyon this early; would be better in afternoon/early evening.
