Oxford Alabama, Alabama, United States
Plan was to camp at the State Park. Unfortunately, lots of rain.
Went to a campground in town just off the highway.
PARADISE ISLAND RV PARK
Gravel road and sites. Managers really nice
                                          Historic Downtown Anniston
Marta's Greek Pizza & Grinders
Pizza, gyro, grinder--all really good at very reasonable prices.
Stayed an extra day to see more of this area.

Classic on Noble for lunch
Beautiful old building that began as a saloon in the 1800's, then various other businesses, and ended up a Woolworth's.
Kathy & David Mashburn, owners, turned it into a beautiful restaurant.
They are the epitome of southern hospitality; really enjoyed talking with them.
Food: Shrimp & Grits (100 things to eat before you die in Alabama) & Rib Eye.
Delicious. Kathy wanted us to try the traditional southern fried green tomatoes and brought 6 pieces out with pepper jelly--crispy and delicious. So full we could hardly eat them. Toured the upstairs dining area and bar.
Beautiful décor--chandeliers, tall vases on tables, Christmas decorations in windows.

A must place to go if in this area.
