Eden, New South Wales, Australia
April 7:  Cruising Tasman Sea.  Sunrise--big ball of red.

Great sunrise.
Cute town spread across the ocean hillside. Famous for whale watching during Sept-Nov when the whales come close to shore.

VILLAGES OF SAPPHIRE COAST  Tour (4.5 hrs)
Rotary Park Lookout -- Short drive to this cliff top with panoramic views of Twofold Bay, where the ship is anchored.
Continued the drive passing the towns of Pambula and Merimbula, where they grow rock oysters. Thought this drive would have good coastal views; not so; the drive along the Princess Hwy is through farms and the steep mountains of national forests. The tour guide talked about the area's animals and "nasties" (snakes and spiders) and called it a drive through the "bush." The bus driver flew along this two-lane road often right on the steep mountain edge.

Tathra Memorial Park -- Nice views of the ocean.

Back on bus. Drove through Bega River, Mimosa Rocks National Park--very steep hills, and Cottagway Bay.
Bermagui  -- Very pretty town that hugs the edges of a beautiful harbor and is nestled under the shadow of Gulaga (Mt Dromedary); of course, there is an aboriginal story. Enjoyed a snack at one of Main Street's cafes with the fabulous harbor view.
Cobogro -- Small mountain village with several blocks of shops with really cute names--"3 Mums" "Well Thumbed Books"   The Bakery has award-winning meat pies.
This tour had to move fast to cover so much area. The mountains and coast are beautiful.  Would not do it again--too much driving for the half hour stops at four towns.
