Little Qualicum Falls PP – July 6-9, 2008

Slowly we start to discover all the Provincial parks around here… and this is the next one: we found a cool spot close to the river – so it was never far away to bring our chairs and listen to the water.

So we looked at the map and decided to walk the whole loop: first to the lower campground – over the bridge – along the river, where we discovered some more river spot campsites and then finally the highlight:

From this first time and ever since: we love this waterfalls: climbing along the rocks and see the double falls going in the canyon, walking along the edges and always discovering another cool perspective. Paul would like to have a bench here…
Even more fun is it to walk along the falls to the lower falls and then back up again to see the falls from a different direction… we are still not sure which is the nicest spot to see them…
And we found that little spot for a swim with a little sandy beach such for us…

When driving into the campground there are some train tracks… so we went along a little bit to check them out… but I think we have to come back another time to see where they go…

- Time for coffee
- For reading the morning newspaper
- When we want to relax and read
- Listen to the water and enjoy the sparkly water
- Finding a tree to sit on

Gine: I'm sure the falls look different in the morning – during the midday and also in the evening… different light angles – sure will make it different looking … and so Gine convinced Paul that we need an evening walk to the falls to see the sunset here – which is amazing too…

We like them so much, that we will come back – year after year after year – and every time we love the falls… and think they are awesome!

We heard about the famous Coombs and since it is on the way: we go there and stop and admire the goats on the roof, check out the country market where you get food from all over the world, find the cool stone figures and funky buildings…
