Juniper Beach Park, British Columbia, Canada
Juniper Beach PP Juniper Beach PP
If you want sunshine: go to the desert – and that's what we did…

through the Thompson Valley Farming in the desert
So if you want a lot of sunshine for the crop – you are here at the right place, especially with a big river close by: so here you see those brown desert hills and then the bright green watered area of the farms… it is quite a contrast.

Juniper Beach PP - the desert shrubs Plants in the desert:
  • Prickly pear cactus: is prickly – but it actually flowers in June
  • Sage shrub
  • Junipers: guess that’s where the names come from
Juniper Beach PP - camping Camping with the old folks
As where the previous Campsites were already nearly empty – here it was full. It’s the snowbirds paradise in off season… the last warm sunshine before heading south :-)

Juniper Beach PP Along the Thompson River
And what is better than camping right at the river… so we not only had fun sitting in the warm sunshine along the river, but also we had to start to walk along the river and explore more. And we discovered that here are those really prickly cactuses… better not walking around bare foot,
We also found some nice spots right on the river and found some fish eggs…

Juniper Beach PP - and trains in the morning The Trains
Paul loves trains, so if you are on a campground, where you can sit and watch the trains go by – and I talk about those huge endless long Cargo trains… then someone is happy. And here you have it in double the CPR and the CNR go by: so one in front of us on the other side on the river and one behind us… sure we were lucky and saw them both

Juniper Beach PP - camping Relaxing in the sun
And finally Paul got his wish fulfilled: sitting in the sun and relaxing….
