We couldn’t believe it – aren’t we lucky! The sun is out and shining, the perfect day for a hike and so we started out and up again to the top of the mountain where the hike starts

And I mean literally freezing – we thought it is late summer, feels like the middle of winter… even little puddles on the ground are frozen.

And here we are in front of this Inuk chuck – the start of our hike: so let’s make a before picture – especially if the trail starts behind it.

The nice thing is it starts at the top and then all you do is slowly hike down (ok a little bit up and down but not a lot) – and you have the most awesome views: so the sign says you need 3-4 hours for the 9.5 km: but that is if you not constantly stop and take pictures! So if Gine goes and takes pictures then it takes 6hours! But Paul did not complained, since he loves to check out the views too. And it was amazing, no wonder they say this is most scenic hike up here and what did we found
- Amazing views on the mountains
Views to the Garibaldi Park with the famous Black tusk
Views down to the Cheakamus Lake: this is one funky lucky lake sparkling in all kind of blue and green
- We saw a lake high up in a high valley
We walked through rocks
We walked over some snow patches
- Oh and there was an “Emergency exit”: if you feel beyond your hiking abilities, then turn left here (the short cut) – but why would we do this, when we have so much fun!!
We found some nice spots to sit down for a quick picnic break – enjoying the view and sunshine
- We took off our jackets, because it got sunny and warm
We rounded the Whistler mountain and had the most stunning views on the red looking mountains – amazing those colors
- We saw over to the Blackcomb Mountain
We come by two small lakes underneath the rocky wild looking mountains – the Harmony lake
- We walk on long stretches of rocks
- We always saw new mountains, different views
We crosses some little rivers and saw them going over the edge down to the valley
There were even some board walks to go over along a lake and over a meadow
- We see the storm coming up
We went the last few km with the Roundhouse in view faster because we saw the weather changing

And then it starts raining when we left the mountain – and we were so lucky having such a great day.

The day before some fellow campers told us about a new campground up on the hill: 10 km down the road – so today we decided to go there. And it is a super spot you camp right on the edge and overlook the mountains and the forest… even we did it in the rain and were nearly the only ones here… goes it is brand new!!
