It sits in the Thompson Valley – high up in the mountain, ok so you do have a nice view down in the Thompson Canyon, but otherwise there was not too much to do on this campsite – at least not enough for us to stay for the rest for the day.
But from here you really appreciate the hard travel they had a hundred years ago, because here along went that famous Cariboo Road, and from what we heard and when you see it you understand that the road was quite narrow along the cliffs

If come through a town we have to stop and check it out and that's what we did – so we discovered that it is the hotspot in Canada… even it was not that hot today and then we found:

- Is Canada’s hotspot: with the low elevation and desert climate, so even if it is north of the 50o latitude, in summer it is often the hottest spot in Canada
- Is where the Thompson River meets the Fraser River
- It is not the largest city with barely over 200 inhabitants

Paul loves trains, so when the CN built a footbridge right near the train track over the Fraser River… we have to check this out, and even luckier when we were on the bridge a train came…. What an amazing noise having it so close by…

And we were lucky, because we saw a wonderful rainbow over the desert ….

Continuing down the road we came over this summit… the cool part is not that it is a spectacular summit: but I think it is the name…..

And we did found another camping spot in the Fraser Valley…
