Tepic, Nayarit, Mexico

Poor internet again . Martin asked if I wanted to go for a ride with him. He had some things to do and we wouldn’t be back ’til evening. I needed to get cash from an ATM, so I said yes.
We first stopped in Compostela so he could renew his driver’s license. Didn’t take more than a half hour (about $25 for a DL), then we had lunch at a Korean restaurant: Shrimp Tempura, didn’t like the batter or the rice, wouldn’t return there.

On to Tepic where I got cash and Martin had a meeting with some bike race organizers. Martin has been involved with off road bicycles for a while (his dad had a bicycle shop, which is now run by Martin’s son). Last year’s race attracted some international riders, and they were impressed. So this year they are lengthening the course and have more international riders coming. Next year it might be on TV! Although Martin really doesn’t want it to get that big. Meeting lasted about an hour.

Then we went to pick up his sister and her two girls. His mother is back in the hospital, so his sister was going to stay with her. They all take turns, but Martin hasn’t been getting much sleep.

Tepic is about a two hour drive through the mountains, and it rained, so we got back a little after 9 pm. He dropped me off and went on to the hospital. I read for a little bit, then hit the hay. A small cool front moved in and I needed to cover up with a sheet to sleep! Felt good!
