Colonia Paraíso Escondido, Nayarit, Mexico

7:30 am Headed out to La Colonia.

Drab little village.

Sort of poor man's place.

Some okay looking places, but not many.

No real access to the beach: a canal runs between the village and the beach. Someone could probably develop this area, but I guess there are cheaper, better options.

Actually there are two semi-hidden ways to the beach: one is a bridge on the south end that can accommodate a quad; the other is on the north end of town: it's a dirt road, but is easily flooded.

8:30 am Back in La Peñita. Checked on bus schedule to next destination: runs every 20 min, no problem.

Grabbed some milk, lemonade, bread and cinnamon rolls. Took a taxi back to the house; taxi driver ripped me off: usual fare $25 ($1.50), his price $30 ($.033 extra). Think I should complain?

Checked the internet, and it's working, barely. Was thinking of checking out my next destination, seeing as how it's still early, but decided I'd better work on the blog while I can.

Three hours later, three blogs caught up, and now it's too hot and humid to go out: still only in the upper 80s, but the humidity brings the heat index up to 100 (it's now 104º at 1:00pm), and this is in the shade. Put yourself in the sun and you can overheat pretty quickly.

We pay a lot of money for camo.
This guy can change 'clothes' as often as he wants, and it doesn't cost him a dime!

Internet started slowing down again 30 min ago. I got today caught up as far as the typing goes, but it doesn't look as though I'll get any more blogs caught up today.

Sky colored up in the north first.

Finally got a couple shots in the west.
