Ever since I left the PV area, the mornings and evenings are mostly overcast or hazy - no nice sunrises and sunsets. Clears up nicely afterwards, just to make it hot and humid (and if you think I don't like this weather, you're right). To make it worse, there's been practically no air movement. And the breezes that do come up have been hot air, even in the morning, and before sunrise!














 
I’m off to check out Manzanillo, my next port-of-call.


Speaking of nautical ways, if you had a boat and are crazy about bays and beaches, that would be the way to go. There are so many inaccessible beaches, even by 4-wheeler. If you want a change of pace from sleeping on the boat, just blow up your ‘dory’ or whatever, grab your grub, grill and sleeping mat for a night out on a private beach!

I looked for a hotel. Found one on the main road, about 1/4 mi up from the beach, nothing fancy, asking $42 per night. Went across the main drag to another place, probably not as nice, but only $21, including cable tv, a/c, wifi, hot water.

I’ve had a problem loading my photos into my laptop, so I took my gear into Manzanillo. After an hour of fiddling around, it’s all good again. No charge. Gave them a couple $20 MX ($2.50).  

 

Ate lunch in an air-conditioned mini-mall (got my photo problem fixed in one of the stores). Lots of choices for food. I decided on this asian cuisine place that was doing a pretty good business. Tried the yakimeshi: tasty and filling, though it didn’t look like much at the start. Came with a huge mug of iced tea; don’t know if they give refills, but I certainly didn’t need one.  



Waited a long time (more than an hour) for the bus to Melaque. So when I got back, hot and tired, I had a rum and coke and took a nap.  

Then I hit the pool, dried off on the lounger, went back inside to work on blog (no internet).  

Read for a while. Awaiting sunset.  

Hardly worth waiting for.  





Put on a movie. Made a rum and coke. Ate my leftover yakimeshi.  


Bedtime.
