On the wrong side of the bus

Managua, Managua, Nicaragua

Did not enjoy my stay. Walls too thin. Lots of noise all around.

From the little I've seen of Managua, from the bus, I'm not impressed.
But I'll not pass judgement with so little real information.
It seems to be very americanized.

As you can see, I had a real crappy window to shoot out of. And the sun was shining in my window all the time, which really ruins a picture (unless you're going for an effect).

We left at 12:30, on time.

We made two stops to pick up passengers: Granada and San Juan del Sur.

I couldn't take pics, so I read and napped. Had the window curtain closed, so I didn't see anything.

About 3:30, we stopped at a duty free place, which I didn't bother to check out, and everyone had to get off so the Nicaragua officials could check the bus.

There were vendors of all types located around, so you had something to occupy yourself. In about 30 min they handed back our passports as we got back on the bus. Five minutes later we were at the Costa Rica border.

This one even had a homeless park. I believe these are people that are having problems crossing from one country to the other, for whatever reason.

We left at 6pm: another two hour border stop; I guess that's about par.

Made a couple stops at major towns to let people off. Rolled into the San Jose depot at 10:30.

Another nowhere hotel: no place to get anything to eat at this time, except in the lobby.

I don't know if they charge this much for everyone, but I paid $10 for half a so-so sub sandwich and a coke.

Now I'm in another room with too thin walls: not a lot of inside noise here (only 15 rooms), but plenty of outside noise. C'est la vie. Gotta roll with the punches. Hopefully, things will look better again soon.
