Panama City, Panamá, Panama

Okay, so I had a couple of things on the agenda this morning and decided to tackle the toughest one first.  http://mytanfeet.com/panama/amador-causeway-panama-city/
I walked for about 2 1/2 hours, then decided to call it quits because I wouldn't have time to finish and get back for check-out.

I walked all the way from my hotel to the first island, then grabbed a bus back. Probably go back tomorrow, but take the bus all the way (actually have to take two buses).

Got back, got packed, and took the bus to my new place. Had to ask people which bus to get on. From the stop I was at, all the buses go down the street I was looking for. That bus stop was only 1 1/2 blocks from the hostel. The subway was another four blocks away.

Got to the hostel and had to wait a while for them to clean the room. They have at least 6 places to hang out at; so I sat at a table, pulled out my laptop and started messing around. Whoa! The internet connection was so fast I thought I was going to have to shut down my computer to keep it from burning up! Not really: it's still not as fast as in the US, but compared to everything else I've seen this is a thoroughbred.

Here are some pics of the hostel:

The dorms are all on the second floor. Five single rooms on the third floor (can't really see it in the pic).
See the tent near the pool? Behind the pool are two more rooms.
Additional pics below.

So they take me upstairs to the 3rd floor 'penthouses' (yes, that's what they call them), a recent addition to the place: private rooms with ensuite; the rest of the place is dorms or rooms with shared bathrooms.

I walked into the second door, and right after dropping my bags I took pics, then I went to sit on one of the beds and there were long dark hairs on it, and on the other one too. So I got the manager and then sat down in that chair outside while waiting for them to clean my room. So after a little while the manager asks me if I would like the first room, that they just finished cleaning.

A corner room, double bed instead of twins, and a picture window; okay by me. This room is just a tad smaller, but the baths are identical.

So after a little bit I went out for food. Got a full size sub at Subway for $6, then picked up a Miller Lite, Coke and chips for $6.05.

I watched a movie while eating. It's almost midnight and I'm finishing up a week's worth of blogs. All caught up and ready to move on with the sightseeing and exploring!
