Yesterday turned out alright in the end . But this morning didn't start out so well. The people staying here don't start getting up 'til 8am, even though they're in bed by 11pm. I needed to get into my backpack for my chargers, but I didn't want to wake anyone. Also, there's practically no light coming from outside: too dark to see my combinations on my lock. Also, the people here haven't been very friendly, even with the other young people. So I went looking for another hostel.  

Found one about two miles up the road. Seems like a better fit for me. The owner is a 30 something from Colorado: definitely watching the Superbowl on Sun.  

Stopped into a small restaurant for lunch: had lasagna for $6.  

It was after noon when I got back to Refugio del Rio. Everybody is up. Hooked up my chargers and got on the internet. That lasted about an hour before it bogged down. It stayed bogged down for the rest of the day. So all I did was read.  

Went out for dinner at a Peruvian restaurant. Tried their filet mignon at $16: good, but the other one at Bid Daddy's was better. I think this is the second Peruvian restaurant I've gone to so far, and they don't serve Peruvian wine, just Chilean.  

Read some more. Then bed.
