Another walk around town

Boquete, Chiriquí, Panama

Started at 4:30am getting yesterday's blog finished . About 5am another person joined me. It's hard to concentrate when there are others around sometimes: I'm getting old and easily distracted! Anyway, got that done, then showered and went for a walk around the south and east of town. While I was out, I walked by this donut shop that I'd thought about going into before; today it was early enough so I went in, got a donut and a latte ($3). As often happens when you're a foreigner, the owner asked where I was from. He told me he was Venezuelan. We chatted about world politics, and this and that. Then he tells me that he moved down here eight months ago from Dallas! Talk about a small world. So we talked for a while more.

Came back about 10am, chatted with Erik for about half an hour (really like this fella - Hi, Erik!). Then it was time to check out.

Took a cab ($2) to my next hostel. Played on the computer for a while. I only have one roommate at the moment: Rebecca. She was doing stuff on her computer, but we chatted a little from time to time. Then she mentioned she needed to go into town to the ATM and maybe get some lunch. It's a 30 min walk into town from here; I didn't have anything better to do, so I volunteered to go with her. We had a nice lunch together. She got her cash. We came back and I started on this blog, in between talking with three other people.

We were going to have dinner here, but there were problems in the kitchen. By the time it was decided there was no dinner forthcoming from the kitchen, it was after 9pm. So we went to a little store next door and made tuna sandwiches.

A couple of beers later and it was time for bed.
