Well, I did more research on Bocas del Toro, and I'm definitely going. I booked 5 nights.  
I'm also thinking of taking a scuba diving course; so i've been researching that.  

Also figured out a temporary itinerary for Costa Rica and sent it on to a couple of acquaintances who live there and offered to help me.  

And that's basically my whole day -- besides chatting with people, some coming, some going. Lots of comings and goings in hostels!   

Lunch was a beer and a couple bags of chips.  

Late afternoon was chill time: rum and coke and my Kindle. After dark I had a Big Ass Burrito for dinner.  

As the day wore on, it kept getting chillier: everyone was adding layers. So it wasn't long after dinner before people started heading for their beds. I fell asleep around 10pm. Then two girls came in around 11pm (everyone was asleep by then) and took the last two empty beds. Full house. Lots of body heat. Everybody stayed warm.
