Beach visit

Bastimentos, Bocas del Toro, Panama
So I determined to try to get to the beach again. Yesterday my calves were so sore and stiff from the hill climbing the day before that all I could do was walk around town.

I went to find a different trail to the beach . My first attempt failed; must have taken a wrong path somewhere. A guy told to go back to the main path and try a different trail. Finally got to the beach, after 2 hrs of wrong turns.

There's nothing at the beach, and it's about 1K long. I walked to one end, then to the other. The tide was coming in and I almost got cut off; would have had to traipse through the jungle. It did begin to sprinkle on the return. The surf is so rough that boats can't get to the beach; the only way is up the hill through the jungle, which is 30 min. I came to this island to go to the beach, not knowing it would be such a chore; so I don't think I'll be getting any beach time.

Got back, washed off my pants and shoes, went to lunch, hung around the hostel mostly chitchatting all afternoon, went to dinner, came back and read until bedtime.
