Quetzaltenango, Quetzaltenango, Guatemala
Woke up at 6am. Stayed in bed reading and on internet until 8am.

Went to school. Things are improving--slowly. I'm learning more words, being forced to speak in sentences correctly, and my hearing comprehension is improving.

My teacher and I sit for about 1 1/4 hours, then we go for a walk for around 50 minutes, sometimes visiting something on the way. Tue and Wed, we had meetings at 10:45am about upcoming functions or activities. The last hour is spent at a table: she asks questions, I answer.

Went to lunch at Taco Bell: burrito, fries, drink $2.70; as I said before: cheap, and tasty.

Wanted to do some laundry, but someone was already using the washer. So I headed to this shopping area, La Democracia.  It's mostly street and sidewalk stalls, several blocks long, with a couple of inside (mercado) shopping areas, and of course store fronts. Walked around for a couple hours looking for a belt (didn't like what they had - buckles too big), plus about a 20 min walk to and from.

Got back, all tuckered out, took a nap. Woke up and watched tv series the rest of the evening while munching on chips and sipping on Coke.
