Last day at Celas Maya

Quetzaltenango, Quetzaltenango, Guatemala
Some schools are closed all week for Semana Santa, this one closes today. I've decided to take a little break, maybe beyond the three day weekend. This school is kind of hard on my budget, at almost $30/day; so I'm going to look into hiring an independent teacher.

Saw another procession .

In the park, there was an information booth, but they didn't have a copy of this brochure, so I just took a pic (I can look at it on my laptop, easier than on my phone).

Next pic is the front of where I went before (didn't have my camera then): El Balcón de Enríquez, up top, La Bodeguita Del Duende under it (see next pic).

Next pics are all of restaurant (and museum) where I had lunch. Lots of really old stuff.

Tried the tamales; different from Mexican tamales: mostly cornmeal, with some meat and peas - not very tasty, but cheap at $2. Hot chocolate is supposedly a specialty: was not impressed by their plain one, $1.50.

No liquor there, so I went to Duende, had a glass of wine.

Back to my room. Messed around on my computer until 7pm.

Went to a wine and cheese place. Had fondue and a glass of wine.

Walked over to the park. Another procession. Got a popcorn and a screwdriver.

Back in my room at 8:30pm. Coke and cookies, and reading 'til bedtime.

No school tomorrow. No pressure (to get up, or whatever). No plans.

All is cool. Life is easy. Just take things as they come.

Doesn't get much better than this, unless you have someone to share it with, but that comes with its own set of problems. So, all in all, no complaints.
