Mackay, Queensland, Australia
Mad dash to finish off the house before John comes home from work for the final ever time. Yesterday we got word that his services were no longer required and his position had been made redundant.
He is beaming with the news, I am very sceptical yet also relieved for him as this last 6-7 years have taken their toll on his health even if he can't see it ...

So here we are to what people call retirement well he is anyway! I still have a part time job at Wowan as Community Nurse. We have talked about this happening for so long now and when reality hits it is sobering we have just joined the next age group fast. Scary but also this has been Humbling as I had prayed about this if it is The Lords Will it would occur it has so now to see What He has in store for this next chapter of our lives...

Floors done even with the house looking like it has been hit with a tornado we get into the car hoping like hec I have done everything I needed to for this trip... guess we will soon discover if I haven't!
We head off to Mackay get there a little earlier than planned so many police on the road so we couldn't speed even if John wanted to.

Discovered yesterday arvo when I ran into ALYSON Price her and Red where heading away for Christmas also &would be in Mackay as well so we planned to have dinner together
I phoned my other good friend Alison Price to see if she would join us with her partner but sad to say she was booked up.

ALYSON found a great restaurant in the main CBD of Mackay and we had a lovely meal together.

At the end as we were saying our goodbyes the owner a mid-30's good-looking Asian gentleman who was the owner was serving us to pay our bills I see he had a Bible on his counter. I asked a couple of questions and he asked if I was a Christian I said yes. Then he told me how he gives bibles away for free but they are so hard to give away.
He said people will accept nearly anything g else free but the Bible is his biggest challenge...
Good on him for trying. I so weak when it comes to showing my faith so openly and here he was sharing it I such an unassuming yet so powerful a way. God will use him for amazing things I am sure. He had such a wonderful open friendly demeanor very nonthreading yet very humble.

So all in all an enlightening night with great food, great conversation and an even better ending.

Ohh the other thing was this guy singing there he sounded really young with an amazing voice singing really modern latest type listening music then when he got up to leave a bit of a shock to see he must have been in His 70's he had trouble walking yet like the TV show the voice if you didn't see him you would have been positive he was a young guy in his 20's life sure is interesting!
Day done been a big one but we are on our way. Night all.....

God bless you as you celebrate Jesus' birth. You could ask where the restaurant owner worships! We will drive 3 hours after service to be with my family for the first time in 7 years!. Alicia
