Gili Meno, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia
Today is our on camera day, we both had a bad night don't seem to be able to sleep right through waking around 2.30 everyday and taking g over 2 hrs to get back to sleep.
To top this off every morning between 4 & 4 .30am the call to prayer is shouted across the island this happens 6 times a day most days.
4.30 is usually when I am just starting to get a deep sleep so hearing the Old Mate as Kristian calls him is off putting on his loud speaker calling across the island. For the last 3 days however he has had a young boy in training doing a lot of the calling, very off key and very high pitched voice that goes right through you.... this AM the man started then the boy took over and what is usually a 10min call turned into 3/4hr training session. Not fair on all us sleeping or trying to sleep. He gave him another run around 8am again so he sure is in training. Plus as the day went on we heard him a few times.
I spend every day at the start of my day with My Lord doing my reading spending time in very quiet prayer with him my day never goes well if I miss this time alone with God, having it shouted across the area sure makes you appreciate that my communion with God is a silent time of reflection. The differences in how we worship I guess... just wish theirs was quieter!

Breaky was late then we had our 30mins of glory doing the interview with Donna the bubbly gorgeous Balinese, Yana from Greece over learning the ropes in Bali and their camera girl Nellie. They were happy with us didn't take long and no retakes. They said the profs will be sent for us to have a look at, all over our celebrity status done ha ha!!!!

So our time was our own back to read and relax .
I had left overs given to me by the staff when I can't eat their goods at meal times.... John had nothing, then we went adventuring again to see what is about on a different inland track.

More little Resorts some very out dated and run down..... sad to see, plenty of little local Warungs where the locals eat pretty sure they don't cook they come together to eat in these little shops dotted all over the Island.

Another interesting point we noted was there isn't a dog insight not like in the mainland where there are dogs a done s dozen and you have to be careful with rabies as a big concern. But they do have cats everywhere all with bob tails seems they are all docked for some reason.

We finished off with a drink at a local beachside cafe we have been before John. With his Bintang
Me with a cocktail Long Island Ice Tea you pay for 1 get 2, 2nd one free ..... we had 2 rounds of Bruschetta but still wobbled home.....
Once home we discovered a bottle of their $95 wine a bottle of blush with the Karma name on it, same bottle at home probably worth no more than $10 but this is a Muslin country and wine is taxed very very high...... the bottle was from management as a thank you for doing the interview for them. No worries for us we didn't expect anything so it was a lovely gesture.

So silly we drank this before dinner so we're very tipsy heading to dinner....
Tonight was the local band again plus plenty of other people around to make it a good evening....
it was Italian theme night so we had Pizza it was so so and a dessert of apple pie but was a tasty little pie.....
got taking to a couple over from us she kept have a massive sweat melt down I went over to see if she was ok. A young girl her partner had just proposed to her and she was overtaken with emotion. I would have to say her seating was extreme though not quite normal but hope for her sake it was a once off.....
Also got talking to a South African girl who is a Townsville Uni doing Marine Biology but is sadly having to leave as living in Australia and studying is too expensive.... I would say this is occurring a lot these days we Australian's are finding the cost of living so difficult so I imagine OS students from nations that are poorer would find it even more difficult. Sad for our country and sad for them not being able to experience our life style due to costs blowing out.....
she had a boyfriend and her parents had come from South Africa to join her for a Christmas. At the table next to them was another table of 4 who were also from South Africa, these and heaps from Denmark, Sweden and Norway all come here.... so far for them but this island in particular is very popular with the Baltic nationalities.....
Does make it interesting when you say hi to hear the different nationalities speak back......
Our day over again sad to say off to bed....
