Ubud, Bali, Indonesia
Today is our last day. I had planned to head to Ubud to get some last minute things... will see how my day goes...
We head to breaky get to talk to the couple we met day 2 from Gladstone now bris .... say our good byes...
Go back to the room after having our final breaky and pack the bags...
after being the room for awhile John headed to the pool where had some lunch and set about finishing his book... i was to have gone on the shuttle to town now but decided it was all too much, so I joined him at the pool also.. while I was sitting there looking at the people in the pool when I realised I had met the girl in the pool... it was the lady from Glil Meno how I had gone over to at the restaurant to ask her if she was ok as she was having this unreal sweat attack.... it had turned out her partner had just asked to marry her and she was in shock...
She assured me at the pool all her sweat attacks are under control now she had got over the shock... we all had s laugh then got talking to her and her partner she comes from Toowoomba originally but now they both live in Perth she is a school teacher, he fits huge aircon system ducts...
them the other lady in the pool started to chat as well, I had noticed her when we first got to Mayura but then she had gone ... Turns out she went to the Clubs resort at Sanur but didn't like it so contacted Mayura to see if they had any rooms she could come back to... they did and so here she was back.... they all commented how they liked the atmosphere of Mayura very much...
After our chats a cocktail and a swim we decided to head out to look through the local village properly... so off we set amongst the mongrel dogs.... barking and snarling at us as we walk past each of the courtyarded compounds. Little shops and tiny restaurants dotted along the way. Amazing doors, arched entrances with amazing features or gardens just in front of the entrance, figurines protecting the front doors.... just love the character that these entrance ways have. Along further we see wonderful fence lines decorated with plastered features that added to the affects they had at the entrance.
A shop where they make fiberglass statues of all types.... we got to the main road with the crazy traffic woooshing by motorbikes beeping and trucks honking as we try to make our way up the morrow side off the road ... decided to turn back at some stage and head the other way... good thing we did might have got lost the other way!

Walked past art galleries and statue galleries all very interesting..., then as we get closer to the resort seeing all the local village ladies out in costume white lace top and burgundy skirts today not bright yellow tops with green skirts as they were the other day... all ready for another Hindu festival celebration. Seem to be a lot of different ones while we have been here... you can tell it's for s festival as for each god they worship the colour of outfit changes for both women and men... interesting to see their devotion to their false gods. If it were Christian's worshipping in the same way it would be grown upon no matter what country but false god religions can do it and no one considers anything but aware of them... interesting the contrast and the values but that's a whole other issue.....

So back we go after our last look around it was interesting and worth going that's for sure ...
back to pack the last of our gear have our last meal here and top a couple of the ones who really stood out...
John payed the bill out transfer is on the house due to their stuff up.., we can't complain really they apologies for the stuff up gave us back our transfer money, gave us a free transfer 2 free breakers... for doing their interview at Gili Meno they gave us a $45 US bottle of wine mind you a bottle here would have cost about $10 aus it wasn't that amazing a wine but who cares it was free, they presented me with s really lovely Karma sarong as we left plus their paid for our transfer off the island... I really think we came out way ahead they do look after their members very well....
So at 9.30 we say farewell to the lovely girls at the desk bundle into our transfer drivers car, he was the same guy that took Kerry and I last year... I wouldn't say he is the best driver we have had but he got us there in one piece...
it's so different seeing Bali by night lights makes it look better thank it really is....
Our lovely relaxing holiday has come to an end, just a pain we have to fly out do later or do early depending how you look at it...
Getting through customs is as big of s pain as last year heaps of people very slow but nothing you can do but go with the glow.... watching all the Chinese who are very noisy and always in big groups kept us entertained for quite a while that was for sure. They kept the ticket counter staff on their toes well and truly....
