We all had a restful night’s sleep despite the cramped sleeping
conditions.
Breakfast was first on the agenda, so we got a ‘Grab’ ride to
Chinatown in the suburb of Bonido (the oldest Chinatown outside the territory
of China).
We had breakfast at a hand pulled noodle joint called Lan Zhou La Mien
, then suntered off in the direction of Divisoria Market
where we found super cheap everything. Everyone found a bargain or two (three
or four!) We were all exhausted after 4 hours of walking through a multitude of
alleys and stores. The vibe was good, we never felt pressured to buy things.
Exhausted by 4pm, we hailed a tricycle (no Grab vehicles
available) to take the 6 of us back to Greenbelt (500PHP with a 100 tip) as the
trip was 50 mins long and scary at times amongst the peak hour traffic.
Later tonight, went to Greenbelt Plaza (a la de da joint, this area
is very much upmarket and a huge contrast to the Divisoria Market area we were
in earlier in the day). Bought a few things, then ended up having Japanese for
dinner at Sugi ( a great last dinner for us in the Philippines).
