Munich, you have my sole (from my shoe)!

Munich, Bavaria, Germany
Well, since the forecast is for rain all day & a max of about 8 degrees, we decided today would be perfect to walk around all day!  Of course!

We started with a 3hr walking tour to more fully appreciate the sights & buildings of this amazing city .

And where was our tour guide from?  Bayswater!  Not the one in the UK ... the one that's about 30min walk from our house in Perth!  Yes, he fell in love with a German girl, loves history and telling stories ... so now he has the perfect job!

We started the tour in front of the New Town Hall (which is actually older than the Old Town Hall) but not as old as it looks.  It was designed to look like something from about 400 years ago but really it's just over 100 years old.  Sneaky Germans!

Despite the pouring rain and freezing temperatures, we dedicated ourselves to watching the excitement of the Glockenspiel, which has been consistently listed as Europe's #2 most over-rated tourist attraction.  Essentially, 3 times each day, a guy starts up the Glockenspiel, a set of 43 bells that play a series of out-of-tune songs while some mechanical figures go round in circles.  The excitement culminates in a cuckoo bird doing some cuckoo noises.

It's nearly as exciting as the clock on top of London Court!  Everyone calm down!

Well, nothing can top that for the rest of the trip!

Yes, our tour guide had a similar opinion!
