Our flight was a direct WestJet flight from Regina to San Jose del Cabo airport, departing Regina at 9 am and arriving in Cabo at 12:27 pm. Everything went according to clockwork, and there were no problems with the flight. We had arranged with the manager of our VRBO rental, Bob Pearsall, to pick us up at the airport ($80 US), and he was there waiting with a sign that said "ANNA".
Bob is originally from Sacramento, California, and is married to Lynn, who is originally from Provost, Alberta. Bob and Lynn own the unit below ours. In 2004, they purchased a 3 bedroom home in Cabo Bello, a community which borders Misiones. In 2006, they retired and made the move to Cabo. In 2007, they purchased a lot in Cabo Bello and built their dream home, which is where they now live. They rent out their other home as well as their condo at Misiones. Their friends own the condo we are renting, and Bob and Lynn manage the rental and upkeep for them.
After Bob dropped us off and showed us around, Roger escaped to what would be his regular station on the 300 sq ft balcony, while I unpacked. Then we walked the 1/2 mile to the main road, and walked the mile+ to Costco for groceries. I don't know what I was thinking going to Costco. We bought a bag of buns to last a month, sandwich meat in such a quantity that we would be sick of it before it was half gone, more pop for me than I have drank in years, pasta, burritos, cereal, muffins, milk ... and of course, booze for Roger. We had also planned to buy coffee and sugar, but we gambled that there must be some in the condo (we figured buying the bags at Costco would serve a family of four coffee and sugar for 3 months).
Then we took a taxi back to Misiones ($10), and enjoyed a drink and the cool night air on the balcony before heading to the well known (around here anyway) Sunset da Mona Lisa restaurant up the road from us. We ate in the open air lounge on the rooftop (pizza for me, and a ciabatta steak sandwich with guacamole and goat cheese for Roger).
