Snow ... and 22 degrees

Kerrville, Texas, United States
Today, I was sure we must be driving north. The temperature was not warming up, and we hit what must have been a snowstorm yesterday by Big Spring, Texas. Tons of snow in the fields and snow pushed to the side of the road. Lots of melting going on. As we approached Big Spring and started to see the snow, the temperature stopped from 15 degrees to 8 in half a mile. The snow in the fields went on for about an hour, then just stopped. We didn't expect to see the most snow on our trip in Texas!

The temperatures then warmed up from that point forward, and reached a high of 22 degrees as we approached our stop for the night, Kerrville (about an hour outside of San Antonio) . We saw lots of huge windmills along the way, and the terrain changed from barrain flat fields to hilly, thick trees and rock formations.

The speed limit has been mostly 65 or 70 mph, but for awhile it was 80. My little S.K. just hummed along like nobody's business. :)

Gil & Lois tell us the weather is cooling off at South Padre Island for the next few days - in the 60's instead of the 70"s. We should be there by mid afternoon tomorrow.

Roger stops today - 3; S.K. stops - 1. Running total: Roger - 12; S.K.- 5. ;o)

Love the running totals LOL I have never been to Kerrville but it has a famous folk festival every year. Also my Alamos Mexico friend Emily & her husband live there part of the year. We finally had a cold winter day today (-17 with lots of wind) but it will be around zero again in a couple days. Love the pics too ;o)
