Mui Ne, Binh Thuan, Vietnam
A cool change! They call it the Paris of Vietnam, not sure I would go quite that far, but certainly a lot of French influence and a joy to see fields of gerbera, roses, hydrangea, cabbage, cauliflower, and even avocado. In the outskirts every inch of the land is smothered in plastic glass houses.
We rode around the town and it's pretty central lake and collapsed into our quite plush hotel about 5 pm . After a bath David and I could barely get up, let alone walk to the town for street food and karaoke so we took the night off and slept for ten hours readying ourselves for the last two days riding.
The morning gave us lots of down hill free wheeling, of course followed by a good 40 klms of hard slog. We visited a coffee plantation on the way and tasted a highly priced coffee bean known as weasel coffee. Yes, the weasel eats the bean, they wait, they retrieve it and then process it into something for human consumption! Very strong stuff. They also make 80 % proof rice whiskey.
The end of day found us back at the seaside in a small town, having bounced in on the bus for a couple of hours drinking mojitos again and singing songs.
The hotel had a beautiful sea pool and pool bar where we spent the evening.
One more ride to go and we are in Ho Chi Minh City or Saigon, it doesn't seem to matter which title one gives it.
We have really appreciated all your comments along the way, lovely to hear from home when one is in a foreign land.
Our travelling buddies have become family, it will be very strange to say goodbye and possibly never met again, but who know, perhaps we will.
