Time to go

Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
Just waved my best friend farewell as he headed off to Japan and onto Canada, in a few short hours I head to Singapore and onto New Zealand, crazy to have to part but in a few short weeks that will change and I will be heading in his direction.
Our last day in this land was mellow and reflective, I don't know what it is, but being amid 9 million people in a land full of torrid pasts and ongoing challenges and in that time having not met one that doesn't appear to be content and basically happy, it is heart warming and obviously brings one to wonder what it is that makes people happy . Here it obviously isn't wealth or prestige and here I doubt whether anyone would be lonely.
We probably couldn't live like these folks but it sure hasn't done us any harm to be amongst
them and see what the simple life has to offer.
And .....before I get too deep, today it rained ! I got to use my little plastic poncho that I have had for ever, it came down in buckets which was quite refreshing. We dined nearby on a seafood hotpot that the waiter assisted with all the etiquette that goes with it. Enjoyed our last couple of Saigon beers and now it is time for me to sleep.
Thanks for coming on our ride, we loved sharing it with you.

Great Journey, as they say Rossie. You may have had rain, but here we've got bucketfuls of snow, Crown Range was a problem yesterday. Hopefully not today, text me with yr ETA Wanaka.

Thanks for sharing your insights and photos, Rossie. We feel like we've been there without having done the hard work on the bike! You should definitely write a whimsical travel book. :)
