No blowout breakfast today just yoghurt and fruit you will be pleased to hear (although Graham wasn't so pleased).
We decided to be energetic and take the coastal walk via Owhanke Bay which the guide book said was 3 hours
. Must be the jet lag as we had forgotten that unlike England the Kiwi 3 hours means 3+ hours provided you can read the map and have a knowledge of tides! Not being able to navigate the shorter beach route due to high tide we set off inland on the longer route and only lost our way a couple of times. Views were stunning even after hundreds of steps - no sliding in the shale in NZ but nice purpose built steps although just as tiring. Finally made it back to Oneroa for another great lunch of salad and koftas. Anyone new to our blog will notice a constant reference to food and coffee for which I apologise. Talking of coffee yesterday's in Oneroa was good, today's in Matiatia not so good.
R & R on the beach followed by a proposed pizza at the beach hut only to find they had sold out due to a rush so back to town for another jug of beer and scummy grub.

Hi
After many hours with slide rule, calculator and computer, and using Einstein's theory of Fattertivity, I have calculated with one full breakfast, one pizza and one jug of beer a day, that by day 27 we will not be able to observe the beautiful scenery if Graham is in the picture.
