On The Buses

Waiheke Island, North Island, New Zealand
Another lovely sunny day and dare I say it when you are all freezing in the UK, a tad hot. So the only way to see the island without a car is by bus. An excellent service and the bus even stopped and picked us up despite being in the wrong place. We were duly deposited in Onetangi where we decided to do the 'short' walk around the town and along the glorious beach. After 187 steps at the start we thought we'd visit Casitamiro recommended by Sammy for a coffee but it was not open until midday so off to the Waiheke museum.
Luckily there was a fun run taking place (25kms fun!!), so we could ask the marshals directions . Only 10 minutes they said. Half an hour later we arrived as they were opening. An interesting museum depicting the history of the island but worrying that we recognised a lot of the exhibits from our own childhoods, must be getting old.
Another tasty salad lunch and back on the bus for an afternoon coffee in Oneroa served in lovely mismatching cups and saucers. More beach time and this time managed to order the pizzas in advance to accompany our evening beers.

Verrry worrying ... coffee officianados, and mis-matching cups ... when you like your clothes and architecture black/grey, you'll have made the transition to Kiwi. Best move out here. Actually, given the Badger's advancing years, best hope Sam gets residency so you can piggy back..... :) T
PS Waiheke is pretty awesome eh?
