The Road Trip Begins

Raglan, North Island, New Zealand
No Wingroad this year but some sort of Toyota which does the max 100 kms/hr quite adequately. We set off south to Raglan with the usual annoying satnav voice which was duly silenced. An hour into our trip Von Ryan spotted a sign for a vintage railway at Glenbrook, his first 2016 NZ trainspotting but alas the trains were only running on Sunday's. Nice station though. We then further detoured to the other end of the line at Waiuku to try and spot a train but no luck there.
After a picnic sandwich overlooking the surf at Port Waikato we decided to take the scenic road to Raglan! Top Gear would have loved it but after an hour on a semi made road with Graham feeling queezy in the passenger seat I was pleased to spot our first car and join a normal road . Scenery was lovely when I plucked up courage to take my eyes off the road though. Arrived in Raglan to grey cloud and intermittent showers and our resolution to not drink was short lived.
