Walking the Martinborough Wineries

Martinborough, North Island, New Zealand
Duncan survived the cards and was still with us for breakfast. A very warm sticky day so we decided to take a leisurely stroll around Martinborough and see the sights. The town is laid out in the design of the Union Jack, not that you would notice walking around and was very quiet considering it is still the holidays. We put off visiting any wineries until later in the afternoon as it was so muggy.
First stop was Martinborough vineyard where we were served by an hilarious Brit who had been in NZ for 35 years so a relatively newcomer . Some very nice wines and a bottle was duly purchased. Second stop was Cambridge Road vineyard where I personally did not like the wines as much. They had a fizzy rosé that was still fermenting in the bottle which was supposed to be eco friendly as it had no preservatives. I am sure Timbo can expand on this plus the merits of any wines I didn't like. Vegfest tonight and here's hoping Graham can work the barbie!
