Cultural Day after the hangover

Wellington, North Island, New Zealand
Never again, well at least until this evening! Our slowest start yet with a small, by Kiwi standards, breakfast at lunchtime to get us going. We then walked across town to the Pukeahu National War Memorial and The Great War Exhibition housed in the Dominion Museum Building. This exhibition designed by Peter Jackson and Weta Workshop tells the story of the First World War year by year then details the Gallipoli campaign and NZ's huge involvement. This was one of the best depictions of the Great War we have ever seen and it was hours later that we reemerged. It was particularly interesting to see the original photos turned into colour which some how made them less harrowing.
A quick turnaround and back down to Sammy's bar for an excellent dinner . The chef gave us extra large portions on account of being the parents, absolutely stuffed afterwards. Then round to Duncan's bar for a few cocktails and beers and an early night at midnight. Sammy and Duncan working tomorrow night so could be alcohol free and a sensible bedtime (maybe).
