Seaside and Cliff Walk

Kaikoura, South Island, New Zealand
Slightly warmer this morning and could see out over Picton from Ken's back garden. Loaded up and on the road by ten. However 11 am coffee stop coincided with us passing the East Coast Inn. Great coffee and great upsell of two lemon muffins by the proprietor. Also caught up on the rugby sevens. Bad research by the Ryans as would have been good to have gone to the games in Welly, maybe next year.
Had forgotten how lovely the drive to Kaikoura was despite lack of sunshine . New digs on the Southbay side of the Kaikoura peninsular are lovely overlooking the sea. Real seaside and our host Wally (real name) has offered to take us out in his boat to catch crayfish which will be great as they cost about £30 each at Nins Bin where we stopped en route.
Spent the afternoon walking the Kaikoura Peninsular Walkway to Point Kean and amazingly no steps just a steep gradient and lovely open countryside looking out along the coast.
Healthy fish and salad cook in with no alcohol, mainly because we didn't buy any and it is 50 mins walk to the nearest bar over the peninsular. I can feel Graham getting the jitters already.
