Not much to report today as it was one of those lovely lazy summer holiday days. Woke up to fog or sea fret as Sue and I used to experience in Northumbria but unlike there this burnt off by midday. We headed inland for a short walk suitable for families! Once we had completed the steep trek uphill, traversed the streams (luckily it hadn't rained) we then had to slide back downhill. Thank goodness no steps and only an hour long walk. You'd never see an English family willingly going on one of these walks but this is New Zealand 
A lovely few hours on the beach with a much needed refreshing breeze and back for some barbecued chicken . Back on the road tomorrow to Christchurch. Will be sad to leave Kaikoura and our excellent hosts Woody and Rosemary.
