Able Timbo Tramp

Nelson, South Island, New Zealand
Today was our walk in the Abel Tasman National Park with Tim. Collected Tim at 8am and were in Kaiteriteri just after 8.30 in time to pick up coffees before boarding the boat to Anchorage. Bit overcast and a cool breeze first thing but the cloud burnt off by 11am. Lovely half hour boat ride round to the drop off point. Helpful guide on the boat suggested we take a 'slightly' longer path to the ridge before rejoining the original path, which along with having to take the longer high tide route meant a 4 hour walk rather than 3 hours. Still it was a great walk with no steps just a meandering path up and down hills (always a hill) with some Yorkshire chap tagging along.
We did have 45 minutes on the beach at Bark Bay for a quick swim in the surprisingly cold water but great once you were in . Another leisurely boat trip back and then a few hours at T & C's for a scrummy barbie and some civilised conversation with Catherine after a day with the boys.
