A perfect day and lovely weather and what better way to start than with a brunch, although a tad early at 8.30. Really nice to meet Sue Knight's cousin, Chris and his wife Jan, who live in Wellington and were going to the cricket later that morning. Sue has cousins the world over and it is a delight meeting them. 
Next stop Wellington Sunday market with Sammy to buy food for tonight's Valentine dinner . Amazing value and array of produce. Then bathers on and off round the coast to Karaka Bay. Think we sat in a locals spot as they made a point of being noisy behind us but hey we Ryans know how to hold our ground and our beach snoring was probably worse. Sorry to say Sammy was the only one that went in the water. Lovely ice cream from Sammy's flat mate's cinema on the way home which as you may have guessed is showing Star Wars. Couldn't find a suitable shop and much nicer to get a free ice cream from Lucy. 
Sammy prepared a great meal with a little help from Graham barbecuing the fish. Few glasses of bubbles, nice wine and of course beers for Graham which all helped the usual interesting game of rummy before a VERY late stagger home.
