Blown Away in Napier

Napier, New Zealand
Decidedly windy today with the odd shower but still muggy. Macs on and we descended down the hill into Napier by which time we were too hot so after a quick wander coffee loomed. Same lovely cafe as last year, very good. Decided to abandon central Napier as unfortunately a large cruise ship was in port.
We headed off along the coast to Cape Kidnappers but already knew the tides were wrong for us to attempt a walk to the gannet colony so we walked along the shingle avoiding the waves for half an hour
Last stop Bluff Hill Lookout overlooking Napier Port which is a very busy container port. Even windier on the Bluff and as it started raining we made tracks home for the evening and a few beers.
