Cannot believe how the time as flown once again as it only seemed yesterday that we arrived in NZ rather than 6 weeks ago. We haven't done top to bottom this time but have managed about 3,500 kms in the red rocket plus a return train journey, four ferry crossings, a whale watch boat trip and a miniature rail ride. We have also managed to stay in 14 different abodes including Sharon and David's twice, all really nice. 
Looking forward to our 4 weeks in Australia starting with meeting up with an old friend Joan tomorrow and later on a week with Sammy . 
Quick drive out to Devonport before heading to the airport. 
 Pleasant flight with a good choice of films especially considering it was only 3.5 hours. I could even continue watching when we had stopped at the gate and were disembarking. Quite quick through customs and baggage collection then just needed to locate car pick up. Very friendly lady at the Apex car hire office and she was almost ecstatic about our Kia Optima which I had never heard of. Even we were surprised, as no worn out wreck with worn tyres, air bag warning light and a non working key fob, but an almost brand new model with sunroof, folding mirrors, built in satnav, reversing camera, leather heated and cooling seats and no dings (yet! but we do have the full cover package for Graham). Luxury. Didn't see much on the drive up to Arley Farm as it was dark by 7pm, apparently Queensland doesn't believe in daylight saving. Quick stop at supermarket for essential vittles and an early night as 3 hours time difference.
