Beach and Bar

Maleny, Queensland, Australia
Well Maleny got its rain overnight and it was still very overcast this morning so lunch made we headed off to the coast at Caloundra, the southern end of the Sunshine Coast. A typical holiday resort area with lots of apartment blocks but good coffee. We took a very quick stroll through the Sunday Market. A decidedly tacky affair much like the world over. Too hot to sit on the beach yet so we walked the coastal path for an hour or two which was basically a nice flat path around the bay. Rather than sit on the busy downtown beach we outspanned at Golden Beach. Might be Golden but not a lot of it even when the tide went out. Still it was nice and quiet with some shade and we also watched an Australasian Harrier swoop just a few feet in front of us to pick up a piece of dead fish.
Once showered we headed to town to check out the bar and were served by a very nice chap from Nottingham . Nice fiddly diddly music being played but children running around bit disconcerting. Thought we wouldn't stay too long as long drive to Rockhampton tomorrow.
