Mossman Gorge Rain Forest

Port Douglas, Queensland, Australia
Graham woke up wondering why the tap was running not realising it was pouring with rain and I had opened all the windows. Luckily by mid morning this had reduced to a drizzle but very very humid. We walked into town booking our Barrier Reef snorkelling trip for tomorrow on the way. Had a great breakfast, mine was the healthier version of course, plus very good coffees. Nice walk back along part of the four mile beach which was more or less deserted but then the beach is closed for swimming due to the crocs let alone the stingers, such a waste.
It was quite a pleasure getting back in the car for the air conditioning as we drove to Mossman Gorge, a world heritage rainforest with lovely waterfalls . Shuttle bus up to the designated walk, no off piste in this part of the world and there were even poisonous plants to avoid. Some steps you'll be pleased to know and definitely felt like more than 2kms. Some stunning Aboriginal art in the Mossman Gorge centre but no photography allowed otherwise could have captured for Kim.
Messed up getting salad for dinner to eat with the lovely prawns we purchased earlier. Supermarket shut at 5.30 instead of the usual 9 pm in Australia, what is that all about. Managed to find a corner shop which had basic salad so we then needed to find a beer to recover from the shock. Beer still not good but amazingly my Aussie wine very drinkable.
