Transfer day

Ballarat, Victoria, Australia
A transfer day today. So farewell Queensland after just over 3,000 kms and several brilliant forms of boat transport. Won't miss the rain and humidity though. Painless flight and managed to collect our hire car before the 5pm curfew otherwise a $30 out of hours charge, really. Well after so many kms in the Optimus we were forming quite an attachment, particularly the air conditioned leather seats. Now driving a much lower spec Hyundai with no leather and back to a Navman with an Aussie voice but so far no dead end roads.
Good news no humidity in Melbourne but 41 degrees at 5 .30pm in the afternoon was a bit of a shock. Probably explains why the Victoria vista was just parched fields, not sure what the few cows we saw were eating. Still sun was out and although hot we weren't dripping. An hour to Ballarat and settled in at Hillside, a cottage nestled in a leafy established garden. Lot of gravel in the garden and will try and locate any plant life tomorrow but not going outside again now with the bugs.
