Autumn arrives in Sydney

Sydney, New South Wales, Australia
Bit of a change from yesterday with a damp and chilly start to the day so no sunning on the beach. Back on the ferry to Sydney for some more sightseeing.
First visit was to the Rocks museum which recounted the 200 year history of Sydney, including the building of the Bridge and how the locals stopped a total regeneration of the Rocks area so that some of the original housing could be preserved . We also learnt that the original streets were paved with hardwood blocks soaked in tar as they were more hard wearing and easier to clean.
Coffee stop, again good, followed by a nice wander around the street market before heading up to the Observatory for more intellectual input. Brains definitely needed feeding by now and it was also pouring with rain so an excellent kofta wrap at Darling Harbour before visiting the Maritime Museum for a couple of hours before closing time.
Ferry ride back required sitting inside to stay out of the rain and spray much to Von Ryan’s chagrin. Eating in with a bottle of Prosecco as early start to the airport in the morning. Today’s episode was me managing to break the glass coffee table in the apartment, oh why am I so clumsy even before the Prosecco.
