A very very long road day heading east which ultimately resulted in us arriving at Castro’s family home too late. Now to be visited in a couple of days. Therefore our only stop was at Holguin to see the Virgin Mary Cross up some 450 steps. Luckily we were driven to the top where we successfully avoided the incumbent Cuban band. Tonight’s hotel in Santiago de Cuba is a large Melia but thankfully the roof top bar did happy hour until 8 and after that it didn’t matter. Stunning night time view over Cuba’s second largest city.
