Santiago de Cuba, Santiago de Cuba, Cuba
No road trip today but a nice tour of Santiago de Cuba - oldest house in Cuba built in 16th century Casa de Diego Velazquez , Cathedral then the Moncada Barracks attacked by Castro in 1953 which started the Revolution. Lovely lunch spot by the sea at the Castillo del Morro fort. Onwards and upwards to the highest point in the Sierra Maestra Mountains. A few of us climbed 456 steps to the Gran Piedra Rock with spectacular views. Finished the afternoon with a walk around a lovely botanical garden built on an old coffee plantation just before dusk. Unfortunately the last visit to a Cuban music venue was disappointing as very touristy but we had been lucky in Trinidad.
