Good morning, well, I can honestly say that even though my night was disturbed by the various noises of the local animals ( and Leanne’s constant purr like snore) it was a much more comfortable night. Coffee in bed with a view out over the fields is a great way to wake up.
we went for a mooch at a booty this morning and where is the sunshine. I had a summer dress on as it’s meant to be a heatwave but I could have actually done with a coat and gloves on. I had to tough it out being up north and just soldier on. It was such a relief to get back to the car for a bit of warmth.

After a bit of food shopping we came back to the cottage and had some lunch before taking the dogs for a walk over the fields. What a difference a couple of hours makes, the sun has made an appearance and it is lovely. Taking 7 chihuahuas on a walk through a corn field is quite a challenge - just as well there were 5 adults keeping them in check. Old man Jake couldn’t manage the full walk and needed a carry on the way back but that is because they had all used so much energy as they had to jump through the grass as it was a bit long for them to walk properly. The youngest ones were living their best life having fun with each other and playing. Dot loved doing her own thing and it was as if she was free away from all the disruptive children and she too came alive.
The walk with the dogs wasn’t too far (only about 4 fields, half hour) but those little buggers where knackered. I forget they are only little dogs and that must have been quite tough for them especially with their fur coats on. They got dunked in the pool to cool down which failed better with some than others. We chose the ‘drink’ route to cool down as it was Pimms o’clock. Pouring it from a big plastic kitchen jug didn’t create the best impression but it was a lovely long drink and the bonus is you get fruit with it too. After a few drinks and the glorious sunshine it would have been rude not to take a dip in the pool that had taken so long to fill. Jayne and I were the only ones brave (or silly) enough to get it but after the initial shock it was lovely. Sun cream needs to be applied by all tomorrow, I think I put mine on but others waited until they were burning which is never a good thing.
Gary cooked a lovely bbq tonight and we were all extremely well fed and watered. Leanne, Tony and myself left the caravan and the 7 chihuahuas and headed back to the cottage for a nightcap and a chatter.
Goodnight all, bring on tomorrow.
