Litchfield National Park, Northern Territory, Australia
7/5/2015 – 11/5/2015 5 nights Litchfield Tourist Park (Stay 5 pay 4 $35 p/n)

Headed off around 11am and drove just over an hour to our next destination . Let's just say the owners of this park didn’t quite have the same charm and customer service as the last… However, great park with lots of shady spots and great facilities.

Found a lovely spot right across the road from Mark and Dee who we had met at Daly Waters then headed to the pool for the rest of the arvo. Met a lovely chap named John from Mackay who was traveling solo, who soon became Luvies’ man crush.

Had dinner at the Batchelor Pub on Friday night and hit the stage for a bit of outback Karaoke… very funny night had by all.

Over the next four days we visited Wangi Falls, Tombler Falls, Florence Falls and Buley Rockholes. All beautiful; crystal clear water, amazing views and great swimming spots.

If you ever go to Florence Falls make sure you do the Monsoon Loop Walk… absolutely stunning meandering back and forth over a creek until you hit the Falls . Then you can either walk back the same way or take on the 126 stairs back to the car park. We somehow managed to do it the sensible way… stairs down, meander back J

Took a drive out to The Lost City, which is a series of rock formations that look like ancient ruins, and also checked out the Termite Mounds, which were different to the others we had seen in that they run in a North South direction and look like tombstones, so the whole area looks like a massive graveyard.

It was interesting driving through smoke haze and roadside fires both at Kakadu and more so at Litchfield not thinking anything of it… if we were in Victoria with fires burning around us we would be high tailing it out of there.

All in all Litchfield certainly IS what it is cracked up to be and certainly didn’t disappoint.
