Getting our Bearings

Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland
Our arrival in Dublin was under sunny skies with just a few clouds floating by. We had a friendly taxi driver who delivered us safely to our hotel, The Albany House, a b&b located a block south of St. Stephen's Green. The green is a 22 acre park crisscrossed with walkways, with fountains, a small lake, and lush greenery throughout, and is just lovely to spend time strolling through.
After a quick nap to recharge our batteries, we headed out to see the city . We spent a couple of hours on the Hop On - Hop Off tour bus which gave us a great overview of the city, and the history of Dublin as well.
This is the centenary of the 1916 Easter Rebellion, and the city is proudly showing off its history almost everywhere you look.
After the bus tour we spent a good deal of time walking around and got to know the city a little better.
We stopped at a pub called Sheenan's in the evening and had our first Irish meal - steak and Guinness pie and corned beef and cabbage. We were beat by this point so we walked back to the hotel to get some shut eye.
