Sifnos, Cyclades, Greece
We have another good breakfast at the Myrto and get ourselves sorted and go down to catch the bus. Sifnos has we think the best bus service of the islands and even this early in the season there are plenty of options.
They have a lady bus driver and 3 years ago she got a new bus and very smart it is . She turns up this morning and I tell her that she has had this bus 3 years she ought to be given a new one. She tells me it is still new and by appearance it is, not a mark on it.

We get off at Apollonia and the plan is to walk down to Kastro, a lovely old village and then take one of the old paths that Sifnos is famous for, over to Faros and catch the bus back from there.

Another couple get off and they walk with us to Kastro. They are Bob and Joanne from Montreal. Joanne is actually French but, was able to escape! Bob was familar with England and actually played Ice Hockey for Whitly Warriors!

We then commence our trek to Faros having not been able to get Jean to say it was to hot, which it was as I would quite easily have been persuaded to back out!

The walk was tough but there were some lovely views. It took us about 2 1/2 hours .
As we dropped into Faros we could see some people having a meal at a taverna on the beach. A couple are waving and calling at us, it`s Lianna and her husband who we stay with on Naxos! It`s a small world. It seems they have just come over on a day trip On the Express Skopilitis with a load of other locals! I decline the offers of ouzo!

We have taken our beach cossies and have a dip and some lollies and drinks, which were refreshing. B and J arrive they decided to do the walk. It took them 80 mins!

The bus arrived at 17-15 and we get off at Apollonia and have a walk around the lanes and then share a cab down to Kamares with B and J.
The folks from Naxos are having a whale of a time dancing and we see Lianna again and take a photo of them and later send it to their son in Naxos.

Showered and changed we visit Sophia`s taverna and tuck into a Greek Salad. Jean had a pork chop and I had patsisio. B and J join us for a wet and then it`s off to bed. Been a lovely day but likely my legs will be hurting tomorrow!
